2025 Is Knocking!
Is Your Business Still Tripping Over 2024?

It’s here, people, like it or not—the end of another year. The annual scramble to pretend you’ve been on top of everything since January, but we all know, you haven’t. And guess what? 2025 doesn’t care. It’s storming in like a toddler with a sugar high, and if you’re not ready, it’s going to eat your lunch.

Did you actually do the things you promised yourself you’d tackle this year? You know, those thrilling tasks like organizing your files, planning your strategy, and putting some actual thought into your budget? If you didn’t, this is your official wake-up call, we are T-MINUS 5ish days from the new year! Don’t panic, we’ve got your back!

Time to Clean House (Yes, Your Digital House Too)

Start with the basics:

  • Files and Folders: Do you have 372 downloads cluttering your desktop right now? Be honest. Move them to the cloud, back them up to your server, or stick them on an external drive. Just do something with them. Get them off of your computer so it doesn’t bog everything down. Add folders that make sense to your cloud drive so you can find stuff later.
  • Design Software: Is it a hot mess? You know Canva, Adobe and the like? Are you the person opening files named “FinalFINALFINAL_USE_THIS_V3”? It’s time to clean that up. Create folders, rename files like a professional adult, and make future-you proud.

Calendar Chaos? Fix It.

Did you block off time in 2025 for the things and people that actually matter? No? Then do it now. Book time for work, play, and self-care before your calendar gets eaten alive by everyone else’s demands. Pro tip: saying “no” to a meeting request is free and liberating. Try it.

Is Your Google Drive a Dumpster Fire?

Let’s address the horror that IS your Google Drive (or whatever you’re using). Are there a million unlabeled docs from 2019 still lurking in there? Do you even know how to find that one spreadsheet you need? Here’s a fun challenge: create folders, delete duplicates, and organize it all. Bonus points if you label things properly.

Content: Write It Now or Regret It Later

If you don’t already have your January social media content ready to go, you’re behind. Think about it—do you really want to start the new year scrambling for ideas while still hungover from New Year’s Eve? Didn’t think so. Write it. Schedule it. Done. At the very least do 3-6 posts get it on your scheduler so you can continue to write stellar content for the forseeable future. Now, don’t get lazy and start writing posts for every “weird holiday” like “National Hot Dog Day” IF it is not relevant to your business.

Strategy and Budget: No Excuses

Ah yes, the dreaded “S” and “B” words. If you don’t have a clear strategy and budget for 2025, you’re basically throwing money into a marketing black hole. Remember, marketing should never be more than 10% of your overall budget. Be intentional. Spend smart. No one cares how flashy your ads are if they don’t convert.
